Artists of Gippsland is a curated touring exhibition presented by ArtSpace Wonthaggi, open exclusively to artists living in the Gippsland region of Victoria.
 

The program is a re-activation of New Energies — a celebrated juried exhibition that ran from 2000 to 2007, touring regional galleries across Gippsland and showcasing the best of local contemporary visual arts. Over the past two decades, contemporary art practice across our region has grown significantly, and the ArtSpace Wonthaggi Committee felt the time was right to reinstate this important program under the new name Artists of Gippsland.
 

This is a select-entry showcase. Up to 12 artists will be selected by two esteemed judges, Susan Purdy and Tony Hanning, with works exhibited and for sale across the full touring period. Selected finalists will be showcased in a group exhibition opening at ArtSpace Wonthaggi in November 2026, then touring multiple Gippsland galleries throughout 2027, exciting details and venues to be announced.

The exhibition is supported by a wide promotional and social media campaign, offering significant exposure and recognition for participating artists across the region and beyond.

Artists of Gippsland is open only to artists living in the defined Gippsland region of Victoria. See here for a map of local councils classified as Gippsland.
