Connections #2

An exhibition of artworks created during The Community Art Project workshops hosted in Winter 2026.

The CAP was sponsored by a grant from Bass Coast Community Foundation. Our ArtSpace artists Meg Viney and Susan Hall have outdone themselves guiding a group of aspiring artists on their journey of discovery. They have been introduced a range of techniques and are bursting to show off their creations.

It is the ambition of all artists to touch the emotions of the viewer.

The success or failure of this intent is the result of a myriad of decisions made during the production of the pieces, the selection of the subject, objects and media to be considered
and how they engage the artist.

The 2D and 3D works I make are inspired by the potentials offered by upcycled materials.  I am excited by the suggestion of shallow depth created by collaged layering and by the fascinating contrasts of textures and patterns available.  I also like to bring the work into the viewer’s space by including 3D. elements.  The earth colours of my pallet and the topographical form of my works make them landscapes even though I enjoy the freedom of abstraction during their construction.  The inclusion of metals like gold, copper and silver make them even more of the earth.
