Nature feeds my curiosity, providing inspiring visuals through colour, pattern, rhythm and cycles. My current body of artworks are informed by the drama observed in my dense garden, a haven for diverse bird and insect species, within a pasture-dominant environment. Even on a calm day, the movement of tiny lives - fly, crawl, hop, climb - is literally ‘a hive of activity’. I try to imagine these pathways within a framework of paint or charcoal, layering and merging imagery with distortions of scale.
